Joshua Kislevitz

Joshua Kislevitz founded JLK Brand Licensing Group to assist clients in maximizing their brands’ intellectual property value. With over 20 years of experience in dealmaking, relationship management, brand marketing, product development, retail partnerships, and general management, Joshua brings a proven track record of success, leadership, and a wealth of knowledge to both the licensor and licensee side of the business. Both a thinker and a doer, Kislevitz is adept at crafting the right creative business solution.

 

In his role as SVP at United Media, Joshua established brand strategies and led North American initiatives for the company’s entire portfolio of properties, including evergreen brands such as Peanuts, Precious Moments, Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit, and Dilbert and emerging properties such as Fancy Nancy and Poptropica.

 

Kislevitz was successful in winning brand representation for properties such as Fancy Nancy, Goodnight Moon, Iron Chef America, Food Network, Precious Moments, and Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit. Under his leadership, United Media’s North American group enjoyed record revenue and profitability and became the top independent licensing agency in the United States. The company was successfully sold in 2010.

 

Prior to joining United Media, Joshua served as President of Colorforms, a toy company renowned for branded creative play. During his tenure at Colorforms he returned the company to robust revenue growth and improved profitability by aggressively pursuing a licensing strategy focused on key retail partnerships, and launching new product & retail channel initiatives. The company marketed numerous licensed product programs with evergreen brands such as Sesame Street and Winnie The Pooh as well as movies including Batman and Toy Story.

 

Earlier in his career, Joshua was a partner at The OBB, a product development company that created award-winning products for the children’s market. Other professional experience includes working as Vice President of Finance for Consolidated Capital, a premier commercial real estate investment firm. Joshua earned his B.A. cum laude in American Studies from Pomona College and his M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.
